We are having a very busy month in July. Thanks, Jeanette for organizing a group of 25+ members to visit the planned multi-million Suria Bumiria's project, the Jesselton Waterfront at the old wharf - Jesselton Point - covering 20 acres with its impressive condominiums, hotels and shopping complexes. Our thanks to Tn Hj Zaini Aucasa and his staff for the briefing and for the sumptious lunch of Nasi Padang at Jesselton Point.
Tomorrow (18 July 2010) will be the long awaited Opening of the Wisma Wanita building by the PM's wife. SWEPA's stall will be visited by the GOH at around 11.15am after the official opening at 10.30am. Please come at 9am, park your car at the Sports Complex and take the bus shuttle from the main entrance of the Sports Complex which runs every 15mins. Please come in your own t-shirt or blouse and black pants. You can collect your red SWEPA t-shirt from Bibi when you arrive and change there. There are more than 100 stalls by women NGOs, women businesses and gov't depts. where you can shop from 9am to 5pm today and tomorrow. My thanks to Mary Jim for representing SWEPA in the Bazaar C'tee and to Josie Lai in the Lunch C'tee. Come and see the Women's Galleria on the 2nd Floor with our SWEPA photos there also.
Congratulations to Karen Wong and her Kumpulan Sorak from SWEPA. The girls, Wynnie, Mary Jim, Bibi and Hanifah together with the other ladies (Karen's staff) pulled in by Karen did a fantastic job cheering and singing away, so much so that the whole hall was full of excitement and fun! They were at the Sports Complex for 3 days and now are planning to organize a Badminton Game for SWEPA every Thurs starting August at 5pm. Any members would like to join? Please let Karen or Hanifah know.
Congratulations to our VP Hanaa and STMC President (till June) and her team for leading STMC to become a President Distinguished Club - achieving 10 out of 10 goals which has eluded STMC for many years! Well done! Congratulations to Hanaa, Lai Fui Nar and Rosie Moo for forming a new Toastmasters Club in Sabah Ports. Rosie is the Charter President of the SPA Toastmasters Club. Now Hanaa has been elected as new Area K4 Governor. Congratulations again, Hanaa! Congratulations also to the new STMC President, Lai Fui Nar. I am sure under her capable leadership STMC is reaching even further heights !
